The small Angus village of Barry is at the mouth of the River Tay, close to Carnoustie and within easy commuting distance of Dundee, with regular bus services. The Barry Links train station is on the Edinburgh to Aberdeen line and nearby Dundee airport has regular London flights.

The village includes Barry Mill, a 19th century water mill run by the National Trust for Scotland. There is not a primary school in the village but there are options nearby and secondary school choices in Carnoustie or Dundee.
